Iberia has announced its list of cancellations for the first of three five-day strikes by cabin crew and ground staff starting next week.
Airline staff are due to walk out from February 18-22 with further five day stoppages scheduled for March 4-8 and March 18-22. The dispute is over Iberia’s restructuring plans which included this week’s announcement of job cuts of 3,800 employees.
Iberia has been told by the Spanish government that it must operate at least 90 per cent of long-haul flights, plus 61 per cent of mid-haul international services and 46 per cent of domestic flights during next week’s industrial action.
The airline has now produced a list of flights that will be cancelled next week. For full details, click here.
Flights with Iberia’s subsidiaries including Air Nostrum and Iberia Express will also be affected by the strike.
The airline said in statement: “Iberia has implemented a contingency plan under which it relaxes the terms for changing travel dates or requesting refunds for tickets. It has also made arrangements with its partners in the Oneworld alliance and another ten airlines to carry Iberia passengers as needed.
“Affected customers who bought their tickets from the Iberia website will be notified of the cancelled flight and given an alternative whenever possible.”
