HIGHLANDS air services to and from and within the Western Isles are to be further improved with the news last week that Highland Airways is to link Benbecula with Inverness, and increase frequency on its Stornoway-Inverness services.
The enhancement includes the addition of a new lunchtime rotation between Inverness and Stornoway on Sundays to provide more comprehensive weekend travel options between the two centres.
The times of existing flights will be varied slightly as a result of the additional rotations.
The independent Scottish airline already has week daily flights between Inverness and Stornoway and from Stornoway to Benbecula.
The Inverness-based carrier will introduce the service enhancements on 4 September 2006.
Fully pressurised Prestwick-built Jetstream 31 aircraft are used on all routes.
