HAWAIIAN AIRLINES has cleared the final hurdle in its bid to introduce nonstop services between Sydney and Honolulu having received its International Airline License from the Australian Department of Transport last week. The inaugural flight HA22, will depart Sydney at 2120 Tuesday, 18 May 18, crossing the international dateline and arriving in Honolulu at 1110 the same day. The airline will then fly four times weekly, departing Sydney on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Hawaiian will operated the new Sydney route with Boeing 767-300ER the twin-aisle, twin-jet configured 18 Business Class and 234 in Economy. Celebrating its 75th year of continuous service, Hawaiian Airlines is Hawaii”s largest and longest-serving airline, and the second biggestprovider of passenger air service between Hawaii and the mainland US. Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. is a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings, currently trading in Chapter 11 but trades under its own management.
