GULF AIR is to expand its Gulf Traveller full service all-economy subsidiary to include Birmingham non-stop from Abu Dhabi. This will be the first European destination for the subdivision, which presently operates extensively throughout the Arabian Gulf region, the Indian subcontinent and Far East Asia. Flights start on 1 April 2005 and will be operated by a Boeing 767-300ER. This becomes Gulf Air”s seventh destination in Europe and is in addition to the five daily services to Heathrow, 11 services per week to Frankfurt, daily services to Paris, Athens and to Istanbul and Larnaca. The Birmingham flights will commence with four services per week (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) until 20 June when frequencies will be increased to daily and will particularly appeal to those whose destination is not served from the UK but is linked to Abu Dhabi.
