GERMANWINGS, a private company with Lufthansa as a 25% shareholder, is to double the size of its Stuttgart operation from the start of the winter operation on 30 October. The budget airline is introducing pan European services to Stansted, Madrid, Warsaw, Krakow and Zagreb and German domestic links to Hamburg (twice a day) and Dresden (daily). The existing service to Berlin Sch”nefeld will get a third extra service. The Airbus A230 series fleet based at the airport will be doubled from two to four.
