GERMAN WINGS, one of a number of bourgeoning continental based budget carriers is to double the number of flights between London and Cologne with the launch of two daily services from Gatwick. This is in addition to the twice-daily operation already flown from Stansted. easyJet has also announced a Cologne service from Gatwick this summer, and one from Liverpool too. From Cologne/Bonn airport the cities of Cologne and Bonn are only 15 minutes away with both D”sseldorf and Frankfurt also within an hour's drive. In addition to the new Gatwick flights, Germanwings' summer schedule will offer onward flights from Cologne/Bonn to 29 destinations throughout Europe. The full summer schedule of destinations from Cologne/Bonn include Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, Budapest, Dresden, Dublin, Edinburgh, Faro, Helsinki, Ibiza, Istanbul, Izmir, Lisbon, Madrid, Malaga, Milan, Munich, Nice, Oslo, Palma de Majorca, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stockholm, Thessalonica, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich.
