STANSTED business class airline Maxjet launched its initially four times per week service to Washington last week. Boss man Gary Rogliano flew in on the inaugural flight and was in a bullish mood regarding both the new service and the now six times per week New York Kennedy flights, launched at the backend of last year. Rogliano says that the airline carried just over 3,000 passengers in March averaging 54% load factor, with even better figures sustained over the last two weeks, around 70 clients per flight. He says that the originating traffic is split 50/50, 70% of passengers on business, and 20% of those stopping over for the weekend. About one-third of the business is coming from companies with over 1,000 employees. With a further two more Boeing 767 under negotiation Boston could be Maxjet”s next destination, Rogliano focussing on east coast US entry points, operationally easier to cover.
