FLYGLOBESPAN, the airline division of long established Scottish tour operator Edinburgh based Globespan, seems to be moving into Stansted in a big way. The carrier has purchased a further two Boeing 737-600s bringing its 737 fleet up to 12. Stansted ” Tenerife will commence from 1 November, initially with a 737-600, then moving up to the larger 737-800 from mid-December. Daily flights to Geneva start from 22 December. The new routes follow hard on the heels of new domestic services between from the northeast London airport to Glasgow and Edinburgh, launched on 1 June, these having supported some 20,000 passengers in the first three months. The airline says it wants to further expand at Stansted but is having problems gaining slots.
