FLYGLOBESPAN, now a fully-fledged airline with its own AoC, continues to expand and has confirmed that its twice-weekly winter flights from Edinburgh to Alicante are to becomes an all year around operation. The holiday carrier, an offshoot of the Globespan travel firm, is also trebling winter services from Glasgow to Alicante and Malaga to six a week. The move follows the airline”s launch of winter flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Geneva from December. From Glasgow, the Alicante and Malaga flights will become daily at the end of March. Globespan has currently Boeing 737-300s and leases in three Boeing 737-300 from Channel Express complete with flight deck crew. The airline has its own cabin staff and is expected shortly to complete negotiations for the lease of two Boeing 737-800s for use in summer 2005.
