FLYBE says that with the addition of the latest services which it announced last week the airline will operate a total of 31 new routes in summer 2005. The summer timetable sees the addition of both Leeds Bradford and Norwich airports to the airline”s existing regional bases. Major expansion has also been phased in at Southampton (five new routes), Liverpool (six new routes), Southampton and Exeter (five new routes each) and Birmingham (nine new routes). The 16 news are Belfast City to Aberdeen and Norwich; Birmingham to Bergerac and La Rochelle; Edinburgh to Norwich; Exeter to Leeds, Liverpool and Palma; Glasgow to Norwich; Jersey to Norwich and Southend; Leeds to Exeter and Southampton; Norwich to Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Jersey; Southampton to Limoges, Leeds, Bordeaux, Liverpool and Rennes. FlyBe has announced half yearly profits of ”14m, in addition to a 24% overall growth in passenger traffic and a 34% overall increase in passenger revenue.
