FLORIDA is to be joined to Scotland next year. The long established Edinburgh-based Globespan organisation has confirmed that under its flyglobespan banner it will introduce a daily Boeing 767-300 operation between Glasgow and introducing a unique three-class product. As well as a low fares in the no frills section, the airline plans to offer two upgraded cabins, premium economy and business class. Called ”No Frills” the economy cabin will be just that, a minimum 31” seat pitch with a wide range of meals, snacks and refreshments offered for sale on board. Premier Economy has a 32/36” seat pitch with complimentary meals, drinks and in-flight entertainment. Business class will offer 24 sleeper seats with 50” seat pitch and full individual in-flight entertainment, dedicated priority check-in and the use of an airport executive lounge. Champagne will be proffered prior to departure and during the flight will enjoy gourmet meals served with fine wines. Globespan, with some 30 years of Canadian market experience, says that whilst the new service will appeal to Scottish and North of England holidaymakers” it also believes that there is an outbound retiree market from the sunshine state. And as if to prove that it still has its eye on the UK domestic scene Globespan also announced last week the introduction of daily Edinburgh flights to Bournemouth. Within the UK the airline flies from Stansted to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
