FLEXIBLE TICKETS seem to be the latest marketing ploy with US carriers, Delta, Northwest and Continental introducing similar new schemes. Effective immediately, customers holding non-refundable tickets will be given one year from the ticket's original issue date to reschedule their travel without losing the value of their ticket, provided the customer cancels their reservation prior to the scheduled departure time of their original flight. Once cancelled, the customer has one year from the date their original ticket was issued to reschedule and apply the value of the unused ticket (less any applicable change fees or fare difference) to their new travel itinerary.
