BLUE WINGS, based in D”sseldorf, essentially a charter operator and
not particularly well known outside Germany, is to dramatically expand.
Currently operating a pair of Airbus A320 it has signed a Memorandum
of Understanding with Airbus for the acquisition of 20 A320 family
aircraft. The carrier, in which Swiss investment holding Alpstream AG,
based in Zurich, has a substantial shareholding, will increase its
operations by starting new routes from Germany to destinations in
Turkey and the CIS, primarily on behalf of tour operators. Alpstream
AG is an affiliate of the Russian National Reserve Corporation.
