EXETER AIRPORT, owned by Devon County Council, is back on the market following an abortive sale to South West Airports Ltd, majority owner of Bristol Airport, a move frowned upon by the UK Competition Commission. New bidders could include CAFCO, a joint venture company who recently purchased Coventry Airport, Blackpool Airport owner City Hopper Airports Group, and even London City Airport, who have expressed an interest. The County Council wants to complete the renewed sale process in six months and is keeping open its options on the size of the holding in the airport it eventually retains. It has already underlined its commitment to the airport's future by approving the 2005/6 capital investment programme of ”2.7m.
