Eurowings has announced that its short and medium-haul fleet of A320 family aircraft will be launching in-flight wifi from this month.
The airline says during the launch, every passenger will be given the chance to try the wifi for ten minutes at no charge, after which point they will have to pay a few to continue using the internet. There are currently 30 aircraft equipped with wifi, but Eurowings says it will be rolled out on up to 40 additional planes soon.
Internet is provided by satellite operator Inmarsat’s GX Aviation in-flight broadband system. Eurowings says the technology offers wifi at a constant speed during flight without interruption.
