BUSINESS-CLASS only services are set to become even more popular, with Italian airline Eurofly becoming the latest airline to announce plans to operate transatlantic services from Milan and Rome using a one-class aircraft. The charter airline is to acquire two Airbus A319ER 'Extended-Range' models to launch services next year to New York, configuring the aircraft with just 48-seats. Eurofly is one of six commercial customers for the new extended-range variant of the A319, with aircraft already flying with Aero Services, PrivatAir (for Lufthansa) and Qatar Airways and with first deliveries to Air France and Air China due later this year. The aircraft has proved popular with Lufthansa and Qatar Airways and has enabled both airlines to tailor their products to support the needs of their executive customers. The success of these operations has led a number of other airlines to evaluate the possibility of establishing similar operations, and specialist corporate operator PrivatAir is known to be in talks with airlines to support such activities.
