Etihad Airways has agreed a new codeshare deal with South American carrier Avianca Brasil.
The agreement means that Etihad will put its EY code on Avianca Brasil’s domestic services around Brazil, while Avianca’s O6 code will be placed on Etihad’s services between Abu Dhabi and Sao Paulo.
Martin Drew, senior vice president – Americas at Etihad, said: “Avianca is an important strategic partner for Etihad Airways in South America.
“In addition to the codeshare agreement recently signed with Avianca Colombia, we are further strengthening our presence in Brazil by offering our guests more convenience and connections with a single combined ticket.”
The codeshare covers Avianca Brasil’s flights to and from nine Brazilian airports including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador.
