Etihad Airways is gearing up for the introduction of a daily 14-hour service between Abu Dhabi and JFK T4.
The flights, which begin at the start of the winter season, feature the airline”s new Airbus A340-500 and equally new three-class layout which includes an airborne lounge for Diamond Zone guests. Departure from Kennedy T4 departs at 2310 arriving at 2125 the following day, meaning passengers really do lose 24 hours. In the other direction a 1415 schedule means that passengers arrive 2125 the same day.
The new service will compete with the already established Emirates Dubai operation which is going up to three daily rotations. Arguably it is quicker to reach the Dubai beach resort area from Abu Dhabi than Dubai”s existing international airport, because of its infrastructure and construction work.
