EASYJET chief executive Ray Webster, speaking at the ACI Europe annual conference (see above BAA) in London last week, confirmed that the airline had embarked on an ambitious project asking airports all over the continent to tender for the carrier”s business. Adverts have been placed in selected national newspapers in countries throughout Europe. Mr Webster made it plain that easyJet was not looking for what he called ”irrelevant airstrips miles from anywhere”. He is after airports prepared to offer easy-to-use facilities with good access to large, attractive populations. With 120 Airbus 319 on order he certainly needs the airports to place them. http://www.easyjet.com
