SHOREHAM, Brighton City Airport, has been purchased by the
Croydon-based property company Erinaceous Group plc. Although it is
one of the longest established airports in the country with its
splendid art d”cor terminal dating back to 1936, a proximity to
Gatwick, a single asphalt 1036m runway has restricted any development,
the situation not likely to change. For 2006 Jersey-based Blue Islands
have been the only scheduled operator with a three times a week
Trislander service to Alderney, now joined by SkySouth with flights to
Le Havre and Le Touquet.
