Emirates is planning to launch a new daily service from Dubai to Mexico City via Barcelona starting 9 December.
The new route will be operated by a two-class Boeing 777-200LR, with 38 seats in a 2-2-2 configuration in Business Class and 264 in Economy.
Flight EK255 will depart Dubai at 0330, arriving in Barcelona at 0800 local time before departing again at 0955 and landing in Mexico City at 1615 local time the same day. The return service EK256 takes off at 1940, with a stop in Barcelona at 1325 the following day, then leaving at 1510 and arriving in Dubai at 0045 local time the following day.
The announcement marks Emirates’ first destination in Mexico, with Mexico City being a popular destination for both business and leisure travellers. The airline says Dubai is also becoming increasingly popular among Mexican passengers, with visitor numbers from the country growing by 32 per cent in the first five months of 2019.
