EMIRATES is to introduce a non-stop daily flight from Glasgow Airport to Dubai next April. It will be the only long haul service to operate east from Scotland and opens up a host of destinations from the airline”s main hub to points in the Indian sub-continent, Far East and Australasia by-passing Heathrow, Amsterdam and other alternatives. The new flights will take the total number of Emirates' services between the UK and Dubai to 11 each day ” a weekly choice of 77. The carrier already operates three times daily from both Heathrow and Gatwick and twice daily from Manchester and Birmingham (the second daily Birmingham service starts on 10 March 2004). Flights to Glasgow will be operated with an Airbus A330-200 configured in two classes with 34 business and 251 economy seats.
