EMERALD AIRWAYS, a small British freight carrier which also flies
scheduled service from Liverpool in conjunction with Euromanx, has
had its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) suspended by the Civil
Aviation Authority (CAA). Whilst nobody is giving details it is
thought that the CAA were concerned with the training aspects of the
company following several incidents. The Emerald contracts include the
Royal Mail, their flights disrupted, but the service between Liverpool
and Isle of Man has not been affected with Euromanx solely operating
the route. Our picture shows an elderly Emerald Airways AVRO 748
betting airborne.
