EASYJET last week celebrated its tenth anniversary. It was on 10 November 1995 when the airline's inaugural flight took off from Luton Airport bound for Glasgow, carrying 120 passengers. At that time easyJet leased two aircraft, both 737-220s, and used the services of another carrier (Air Foyle ” still around today in partnership with HeavyLift) in order to satisfy the technical requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority. Currently easyJet operates over 110 of its own aircraft and carried over 30m passengers in the last 12 months offering 224 routes between 67 European airports.
