EU transport ministers meeting in Brussels have rejected the latest US proposals regarding ”Open Skys”. These did not go anywhere near the requirement to allow European carriers access to the vast American domestic market. Discussions were expected to continue at this weekend”s Dublin summit but detailed negotiations will not be completed in time retiring European transport commissioner Loyola de Palacio has confirmed. Nothing is likely to happen now until after the US presidential elections in November.
