Dubai Airport has introduced contactless smart cards to help reduce security delays and speed up the immigration process. Registered passengers can now benefit from automated entry and exit from the airport by swiping their card and undergoing a three second finger print scan.
The technology has been developed by payment and security solution company Eastnets, alongside Zebra Card Printer Solutions. There are now over 25 Zebra Card Printers in use at the airport, which print cards including ultra violet and micro-printing security features.
The e-gate card is now available for United Arab Emirates residents, Gulf Cooperative Country residents as well as 35 other countries.
