DUBAI and its air show is very much the showroom for corporate jets and the like. One aircraft on display met the exclusive configuration, just, but any real allusion to luxury must be down to a good salesman. Emirates Air Services unveiled for all to see, the latest from Britten-Norman, an Executive Turbine Islander. This special version of Britain”s largest selling passenger aircraft of all time, boasts a sumptuous cream leather interior and walnut trim and club seating. The package includes flight entertainment systems, full cabin air conditioning and chilled refreshment facilities. The aircraft is fully IFR, airways equipped with 3-axis autopilot (linked), GPS and EGPWS. Emirates Air Services plan to base the aircraft in Abu Dhabi as a private/commercial commuter aircraft for use on short semi-prepared airstrips.
