BRITISH AIRWAYS has opened it first drive-through check-in for Club World passengers. Mind you, for the time being at least, you will have to go to Barbados to make use of it. There is a new exclusive check-in and lounge for first class passengers too. All Club World passengers have to do is drive to the conveniently located IAM Jet Centre, adjacent to the main Grantley Adams Airport terminal where formalities are done whilst sitting in the driver”s or passenger”s seat. Luggage is taken out by porters. There is then a short drive to the airport lounge inside the Grantley Adams Terminal. Smart passengers can even check-in on the Internet before leaving for the airport, which makes the process even quicker. BA currently operates nine weekly flights to Barbados from Gatwick and this year celebrates 50 years on the route. In a totally different part of the world BA is to stop its three times per week flights to Riyadh at the end of the winter season ”due to commercial reasons” or as they say ”not enough passengers”. The four times weekly service to Jeddah continues.
