DORNIER will be at Farnborough hosted by new owner AvCraft (which is where you need to look for their chalet). Two 328 JETS will be on display, one in standard airline configuration and the other an Envoy executive conversion. In a pre-show briefing in London last week AvCraft owner Ben Bartel was in a bullish mood saying that his company was ahead of where he thought it would be at this time last year. With wings now being built in-house, assembly of the first all new aircraft would start straight into the New Year with delivery April 2005. Next year”s production is sold out. He forecast total sales of airliner and Envoy versions of the 328 jet to reach 250. He signalled a total lack of interest in larger Dornier 728 aircraft. According to a report in the German edition of the Financial Times work on the Chinese funded resurrection of the programme 728 programme seems to have stopped and there is now a very big question mark over that aircraft”s future.
