DORNIER may have gone to the big hangar in the sky as far as building new aircraft is concerned but there is going to be plenty of its popular 30-passenger 328 aircraft around for a long time. In a move to establish Dornier's future 328 Support Services Ltd has appointed Wolfgang Walter as managing director based on the old Dornier site at Oberpfaffenhofen. Herr Walter has been involved with Dornier since 1982. 328 Support Services is wholly owned by Corporate Jet Services Ltd, the parent company of executive jet services company Club328, based at Southampton Airport, and regional scheduled airline EuroManx. According to the Flight International airliner directory there were 107 328 turboprops built, most of which are in service. The JET version was built in much the same numbers. The final Dornier 328 JET aircraft are now being completed and put up for sale.
