Diamond Air is to open its new VIP lounge, the former BAA Island Lounge, in Heathrow”s Terminal 3 on 15 January. Located in the arrivals area, it is able to serve both arrival and departure passengers, as well as airport staff, visitors to the airport and the general public for a daily fee of ”35 for four hours and ”10 for every extra hour. It is also available as part of the Diamond Air membership.
The lounge will include a business centre with meeting/training rooms, internet access, phone and fax facilities, as well as a shower suite, sushi snack selection and restaurant. Full valet service and personal shopping are also available, as well as a private room with access to all the facilities listed above.
Diamond Air managing director and DSG CEO Christina Lawford said: ”We believe such a facility located landside that provides a single arrival and departure role under one facility is unique. The availability to the airlines and to BAA in the event of delays, or to accommodate specific airline requirements is most important.
”It is very exciting to see the lounge re-open so it will finally have its ”day” after being sadly closed for over five years,” Lawford continued. ”We have Diamond Air Agents in over 300 airports worldwide and offer the use of lounges at each, to our clients. We hope to rival some of the most superior airport lounges overseas thus firmly keeping Heathrow, our hub, as a leading global airport.”
