Delta Air Lines on Wednesday added a health acknowledgment
for passengers to its check-in process.
The acknowledgment requires passengers to check boxes
indicating that they have not been diagnosed with or exposed to Covid-19 within
the past two weeks and have not experienced any of the primary Covid-19
symptoms during that same period. Passengers who cannot affirm that will be
unable to complete check-in and will be prompted to cancel or change their
reservation with fees waived.
Passengers will also have to acknowledge that they will wear
mask or face covering throughout their journey. Delta CEO Ed Bastian last week
said that the airline had already banned 120 passengers who refused to wear masks.
United Airlines introduced a similar assessment to the
check-in process in early June.
