DELTA is joining the increasing band of airlines either offering pay-as-you-go in-flight catering, or at least experimenting with it. Pioneered in Europe by the now defunct KLM off-shoot Buzz the caf” style food promises to be of a better quality than the sandwiches previously available. Delta is test flying a product on certain roundtrip flights from Atlanta, Dallas and Cincinnati until 10 Aug. Food choices and sales procedures will be refined throughout the summer based on customer feedback received through ongoing surveys. Delta will accept both cash and credit cards for food purchases, and first class customers, unaccompanied minors and Platinum Medallion passengers get whatever is on offer with the compliments of the airline. http://www.delta.com
