AIRBUS much leaked announcement of an official go-ahead for the A350 re-vamp of its A330 wide-bodied twinjet came to nothing last week when a board meeting put off a decision. The aircraft is a direct competitor to the Boeing 7E7, and is expected to use the same engines, but unlike its Seattle rival with the 737 ”next generation” up-date, it appears Toulouse is to give the re-winged aircraft a new name. An announcement is now expected in mid-December.
