WEST MIDLANDS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT continues to function as the home of Thomsonfly in spite of threats by Warwick District Council who have suspended an injunction requiring the airport to demolish a brand new passenger terminal effectively replacing one pulled down several years back. Following a two-day hearing arguing the case at the High Court in London, Justice Mrs Gloster reserved a decision until a full injunction hearing. A council spokesman said they had withdrawn the injunction "to proceed more rapidly with a full hearing." However the brand new parking facility provided by the airport still cannot be used resulting in traffic having to use the narrow roads around Bagington village. In the meantime the TUI owned airline last week started flying to two new Italian destinations, Naples and Pisa. The routes join Jersey, Malaga, Marseille, Nice, Palma, Rome, Valencia and Venice which have already started. The full range of destinations will be completed next month with the introduction services to Ibiza.
