German low-cost carrier Eurowings is asking passengers to vote for the destinations they want to see on its network, with Cork airport in the running to be selected.
Five other airports are on the shortlist for the competition, including Aarhus in Denmark, Friedrichshafen in Germany, Kosice in Slovakia, Ljuljana in Slovenia and Stavanger in Norway.
The Lufthansa subsidiary ran a similar campaign to decide on a new route for its summer 2018 schedule, with Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina winning two weekly flights from Dusseldorf starting 16 May and from Stuttgart on 19 May.
Voting for the competition closes on 12 March at 1500 CET (1400 GMT), with the finale broadcast live on the carrier’s Facebook page on 13 March at 1400 GMT. The airport with the most votes will join the Eurowings network for the winter 18/19 schedule.
