BERLIN seems to be the flavour of the month as far as American airlines are concerned. Hot on the heals of Delta announcing non-stop daily flights from Kennedy to Tegel starting 25 May next year (see last week”s ABTN) Continental have come in with a similar service, which takes off 1 July, just in time for the school holiday period. Continental will be using its well-proven Boeing 757 concept, as per its UK regional routes, with 16 passengers in OAG award winning BusinessFirst and 156 in economy. Westbound flight time is nine hours but in the other direction nearly one hour is saved. Also new next year for Continental is a daily service to Stockholm, once again from Newark. The airline already serves Oslo from New York.
