CONTINENTAL AIRLINES has celebrated 20 years of non-stop Gatwick ” Houston flights. Since its inaugural on 28 April 1985, the airline has carried over 3.5m passengers on the route since its inception. The airline”s first foray into the UK market was the precursor to what is now a major operation, with the airline launching Gatwick flights to both New York/Newark and Cleveland and operating to the USA from more UK airports than any other airline ” Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. In June, Continental will also launch daily non-stop services to New York/Newark from Belfast and Bristol.
