CONCORDE is to visit Boston (8 October), Toronto (1 October) and Washington (14 October), the only north American airports (plus New York) of British Airways 23 gateways to be honoured by the airline”s supersonic flagship as part of its pre-retirement tour. These flights can be booked in the normal way on the BA website. The longest passage is to Washington Dulles International which departs Heathrow 1610 local and arrives at Washington DC 1530 taking a scheduled 4 hours 20 minutes. Normal flight time is plus eight hours. Dulles International is historic for British Airways. The first ever supersonic flight by a commercial jet into the USA landed at Dulles on 24 May 1976. New York did not get into the act until 21 May the following year with a flight to commemorate Lindbergh”s feat of 1927.
