Camp for Climate protesters have promised a ”campaign of civil disobedience” as the movement gathers momentum for mass action this Sunday (19 August).
The group has promised unspecified action, possibly against Heathrow, near to which it is currently camped out. Protesters have also demonstrated at Biggin Hill and Farnborough Airports, apparently to voice opposition to private aviation.
The Camp issued a statement noting: ”We will raise the [aviation] issue across the world”s media, we will cost the aviation industry dearly and it will be civil disobedience ” we will act within the bounds we set, not those of BAA lawyers.”
The group advises members not to fly to its Camp.
