US AIRWAYS passengers booked for the Christmas period are assured of travel following a decision by a federal judge to agree an arrangement which allows the distraught airline to keep drawing from the balance of nearly US$1bn in loans, mostly backed by the government. Without the temporary financing US Airways would have had no readily available cash to fund its day-to-day operations. Staff in the meantime are to take a 21% wage cut.
