BRUSSELS is soon to be linked to Berlin both by Virgin Express and its sister company SN Brussels who already operates twice daily flights to the city centre airport of Tempelhof using a two class BAe 146 with a flight time of 1 hour 30 minutes. Virgin Express will resume services between Brussels (BUR) and Berlin-Schoenefeld (SXF) from 5 September 2005 initially with a single service but from October the frequency will be stepped up to two daily flights. All operations will be using Boeing 737-300 aircraft (142 seats) or 737-400 (164 seats) depending on market demand. Virgin Express used to fly to Berlin-Schoenefeld in 1999 and 2000. Following a massive company restructuring at the end of 2000 reducing the fleet size by 50% Berlin disappeared from the airline”s route network.
