British Airways’ controversial new credit card charges will now come into force on February 7.
The new charges mean passengers buying tickets by credit card will be charged a 1 per cent fee of their total ticket price, up to a maximum of £20.
It was meant to be introduced in December but has been delayed until next month.
The current fee is a flat £5 per person per booking for both consumer and trade credit cards.
In a statement BA said “we do not profit from these changes” and they contribute towards the “fees levied by the credit card companies".
The fee will also be rolled out in Spain, Switzerland and Finland - capped at €25 and CHF30 - on the same date.
This change does not affect payments made by debit cards.
