BRIT AIR, the French regional airline, suffered a fatal crash on 22 June when a Bombardier CRJ 100 crashed about 800m short of a small airfield at Brest on a scheduled flight from Nantes. The aircraft impacted power lines, a roadway, and immediately caught fire and was totally destroyed with only the engine area visible as part of an aircraft. The captain sustained fatal injuries; three others aboard were seriously injured.
