BOEING”S historical aircraft are in the news with the first prototype 707, affectionately known as the Dash 80, making its first flight since 1991. The aircraft is undergoing ground and flight testing prior to its final sector later this month to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, at Washington Dulles International Airport outside Washington DC, where it will join another new arrival, the sole remaining Boeing 307 Stratoliner in 1940, the world”s first pressurised commercial aircraft. DFW is doing well with an Air France Concorde another recent arrival. The museum is scheduled to open in December to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight, achieved by Orville and Wilbur Wright on 17 December 1903. http://www.boeing.com
