BLACKPOOL AIRPORT is the home of a new north west based airline. A2B Airways will initially operate 60 flights a week between Blackpool and Belfast and the Isle of Man. Other flights from Blackpool are likely to be announced later this year. Amsterdam, various German and Irish locations and Jersey are among destinations being considered. A2B Airways has been formed by Mike Lee the former chairman of the aviation division of Airtours and My Travel, Isle of Man businessman Nigel Kenny and airline captain Jim Morrow. Captain Morrow was previously the managing director of Flykeen, a small commuter airline which is closing down to make way for the new company. A2B Airways are using Shorts 360 aircraft for their Belfast and Isle of Man Services. Larger aircraft will be acquired for more distant destinations.
