BLACKPOOL is to be linked to Aberdeen from today with a week daily service flown by City Star Airlines using a Dornier 328 aircraft. The airline has since March of this year offered a double daily (Monday to Friday and a single return service on Sunday) to Oslo, using the same Dornier aircraft. The flight is aimed at tourists travelling in both directions and at people working in the oil and gas industries who commute between Aberdeen and the offshore installations off the Lancashire coast. By road the journey is a tortuous 300 miles, or five hours assuming a clear run.
