BLACK FOREST AIRPORT, situated on the Karlsruhe-Basel motorways (A5) near Lahr in southwest Germany, has moved a step nearer to becoming a fully-fledged regional operation. A superior court in Germany last week overturned the original ruling that would not have allowed for large passenger aircraft to use the former NATO airport, which is owned by PlaneStation Plc, who also own Manston Airport in Kent together with in-house airline EuJet. Eujet has confirmed that once the legal niceties have been sorted out services to the UK will commence. With its ideal location (Germany”s largest open air leisure park with 3.6m visitors annually lies practically on the doorstep) the airport could become a major hub.
