BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is to gain a second Emirates service direct to Dubai next summer. The flight will begin operating on 1 June 2005 and will be served by a 285-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The second flight from BHX, EK038, will depart at 2155 arriving in Dubai at 0745 the following morning ” ideally timed for connections to onward flights to destinations such as Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Johannesburg and Nairobi. The return service departs Dubai at 1545 and arriving in Birmingham at 2015. The carrier already operates a daily Birmingham service to Dubai with a Boeing 777 leaving at 1400 and arriving in the Gulf state at around midnight local time. Emirates currently offer four services a day from Heathrow, three daily flights from Gatwick, double daily from Manchester and daily service from Glasgow.
