BEIJING continues to attract airlines with Qantas the latest to announce residency. The Australian airline has announced it would begin flying between Sydney and Beijing from 9 January 2006 initially three times per week with the expectation of a daily service within two years. A two class Airbus A330-300 will be used. Travel between China and Australia has increased more than 40% in the past three years and is expected to grow a further 20% in the next 12 months. The airline will introduce a fourth weekly Sydney ” Shanghai service in November.
